Technique Tuesday

Today we have another installment of Technique Tuesday.

One thing I love about my Big Shot is the embossing folders. These folders give such clear, deeply embossed lines. They make me want to pet my cards!

For this technique, which I call Debossed Sponging (is that even a real word??), you simply use an embossing folder to emboss your cardstock, then you flip it over, so the “puffy” side is on the back, and sponge away! With a light hand, the sponged ink will cover the background, and leave the debossed lines white (or, well, whatever color your cardstock happens to be)!

For this card I used the Manhatten Flower embossing folder, which is simply perfect for this technique. You can see the debossed lines showing through. Isn’t it such a pretty effect?
