Birthday Girl

When I saw the girl image in the brand new Tote-ally Tess set, I knew I just had to have it. She’s so cute and sassy!

I made this card for my friend Melissa, and when I colored the hair blonde, it turned out to look just like her! Melissa loves the color pink, so I used that opportunity to use Melon Mambo for everything! I mixed in stamps from the Party Hearty set to turn Tess (or Melissa!) into a birthday girl!

Not all your cards have to be A2! The card itself is 5×5. I find this to be  a versatile size for cards, I just don’t seem to use it enough though.

One other note – this set is one of the new CLEAR MOUNT sets! Please don’t confuse this with the inferior “clear photopolymer” stamps. The new Clear Mount stamps are Stampin’ Up!’s good old red rubber, the only difference now is that they attach with cling to clear BLOCKS. The value in this is twofold – one, the stamps fit nicely into a DVD size case that makes storage a snap! Secondly, the Clear Mount sets are a bit cheaper than the wood mount sets. I just though of a third perk – we’re saving trees by not making blocks!! 🙂 Sets in the new Occasions Mini are available both ways – Clear Mount as well as the traditional wood mount – so try one of each and decide for yourself which works best for you!

OK, enough about that…onto the card!

All Supplies Stampin’ Up unless otherwise noted:

Colors -Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
Paper – Razzleberry Lemonade
Accessories – Polka dot grosgrain ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Small oval punch, Medium oval punch, Scalloped oval punch, Aquapainter
